1985 Villanova Wildcats Football Team ...
The 1985 Villanova Wildcats football team represented Villanova University in the 1985 NCAA Division III football season. It was the program's first season since 1980, as the team had been discontinued for four years due to perceived lack of financial resources to compete at the Major College (now Football Bowl Subdivision) level. They were led by first-year head coach Andy Talley. Villanova played a "light" schedule against four NCAA Division III opponents and the United States Naval Academy JV team. The Wildcats finished the year 5–0. L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium, also known as L&N Stadium and formerly known as Cardinal Stadium and Papa John's Cardinal Stadium, is a football stadium located in Louisville, Kentucky, United States, on the southern end of the campus of the University of Louisville. Coffey Field
Jack Coffey Field is a 7,000-seat multi-purpose stadium in the northeast United States, located on the campus of Fordham University in The Bronx, New York. It is the Fordham Rams' home for football, men's and women's soccer, and baseball. The facility opened for baseball in 1930, and was named in 1954 for baseball coach and longtime athletic director Jack Coffey, four years before his 1958 retirement. Starting in 1964, students began using the left field and center field area for their club football team. The team was sponsored by the students themselves and it was these same students who rented temporary wooden stands, to be set around the gridiron, for the 1964 and 1965 seasons. The university stepped in to build permanent wooden stands behind the left field fence, which served as a grandstand for football.
