Vice Admiral Ian Warren Knox AC (born 9 February 1933) is a retired senior officer of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). In a 42-year career, Knox commanded HMA Ships ''Torrens'', ''Hobart'' and ''Melbourne'', briefly served as Deputy Chief of Naval Staff, and was Flag Officer Commanding HM Australian Fleet from 1985 to 1987. Steele Bishop (born 29 April 1953) is a former track and road racing cyclist and 5,000 m individual pursuit world champion in 1983. Hugh John Wirth (9 September 1939 – 5 February 2018) was an Australian veterinarian and animal welfare advocate in Victoria, Australia. Michael J. Vernon, AM (2 April 1932 – 6 November 1993) was a prominent Australian consumer rights activist. Vernon was born in Portsmouth, United Kingdom in 1932 to John Ernest Vernon (a writer in the Royal Navy) and Caroline Clark Vernon (later a cryptologist in the Royal Navy). In 1955, he emigrated to Australia, where he settled in Canberra. Alice Erh-Soon Tay (1934–2004) was an Australian academic lawyer, an eminent jurisprudence and comparative law scholar. Barney French
Henry Bernard "Barney" French (7 August 1922 – 10 January 2005) was an Australian politician. He was a Labor member of the New South Wales Legislative Council from 1973 to 1991. French was born in Camden, New South Wales, and served in the merchant navy from 1938 to 1945. In 1953 he became Assistant Secretary of the New South Wales Branch of the Australian Workers' Union, and became Federal President in 1970, serving until 1980.
