The 1984–85 Divizia B was the 45th season of the second tier of the Romanian football league system. The format has been maintained to three series, each of them having 18 teams. At the end of the season the winners of the series promoted to Divizia A and the last four places from each series relegated to Divizia C. Liga II
The Liga 2, most often spelled as Liga II, is the second level of the Romanian football league system. The league changed its name from Divizia B just before the start of the 2006–07 Liga II, 2006–07. It is currently Sponsor (commercial), sponsored by Casa Pariurilor, a betting company with the official name Liga 2 Casa Pariurilor. Format Divisions Since its inception in 1934, Liga II had between 2 and 9 parallel divisions, with clubs divided based on geographic regions. Generally, Seria I included eastern teams while Seria II included western sides, although clubs near the center of the country are allowed to choose in which series they will compete. The first six teams from each series participate in a play-off for potential promotion to Liga I. The teams placed from 7th to 12th will play a relegation play-off, where the last two teams are relegated to Liga III. FC Unirea Alba Iulia
Clubul Sportiv Municipal Unirea Alba Iulia, commonly known as Unirea Alba Iulia (), is a Romanian professional football club based in Alba Iulia, Alba County, founded in 1924 and currently playing in the Liga III. Among the greatest achievements of the team is a sixth place in the first league at the end of the 2003–04 season and a Romanian Cup semi-final played in 1991. The team colours are black and white, and their stadium is called Cetate and has a capacity of 18,000 seats. History Unirea Alba Iulia club was founded in 1924. Mureșul Deva (1921)
Club Sportiv Municipal Deva, commonly known as CSM Deva, is a Romanian professional football club based in Deva, Hunedoara County. The club was originally established in 1921 under the name of ''Mureșul Deva'' and since 1964 was a constant presence at the level of Liga III and Liga II under various names, such as: ''Minerul Deva'', ''Explormin Deva'', ''Explorări Deva'', ''Vega Deva'', ''Cetate Deva'' or ''CS Deva'', but mainly under the name of ''Mureșul Deva''. Club's most fruitful periods were during the 1970s and 2000s when the club spent six, respectively five seasons in the second tier of the Romanian football league system.
