Burnley F
Burnley () is a town and the administrative centre of the wider Borough of Burnley in Lancashire, England, with a 2001 population of 73,021. It is north of Manchester and east of Preston, at the confluence of the River Calder and River Brun. The town is located near the countryside to the south and east, with the towns of Padiham and Brierfield to the west and north respectively. It has a reputation as a regional centre of excellence for the manufacturing and aerospace industries. Barry Powell (footballer)
Barry Powell (born 29 January 1954) is an English former footballer who played in the Football League for Wolverhampton Wanderers, Coventry City, Derby County, Burnley and Swansea City, in the North American Soccer League for the Portland Timbers, and in Hong Kong for Bulova and South China. Career Powell was born in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, to Bradford City manager, Ivor Powell. Barry began his career as an apprentice at Wolverhampton Wanderers, making his first team debut on 10 March 1973 in a 1–1 draw at Crystal Palace. He featured regularly over the next two seasons, and appeared as a substitute in their 1974 League Cup Final win over Manchester City at Wembley. Mike Phelan
Michael Christopher Phelan (born 24 September 1962) is an English professional football coach and former player who is currently a coach at Manchester United. Born in Nelson, Lancashire, he spent most of his playing career at Burnley, Norwich City and Manchester United, with a short spell at West Bromwich Albion before retirement. While he was with Manchester United he also earned a single cap for England. In 2006, Norwich fans voted Phelan into the club's Hall of Fame. Following the end of his playing career, Phelan moved into management. He first took a position as Gary Megson's assistant at his former club, Norwich City, before following Megson to Blackpool and then Stockport County. Geoff Palmer (footballer)
Geoff Palmer (born 11 July 1954) is a former professional footballer, who spent almost his entire career with Wolverhampton Wanderers. Career Palmer was born in Cannock, Staffordshire. He spent 16 years with Wolves, playing 495 times for the club in total. A Wolves fan throughout his childhood, he joined as an apprentice in July 1970 and turned professional on his seventeenth birthday the following year. After remaining in the reserves over the next two seasons, he made his senior debut on in the FA Cup 3rd/4th Place Play Off against Arsenal. The right-back retained his place through the rest of the 1973–74 season at the expense of Gerry Taylor, which culminated in winning the League Cup after a 2–1 victory over Manchester City at Wembley. Vince Overson
Vincent David Overson (born 15 May 1962) is an English former professional footballer who played as a central defender. He made nearly 600 appearances in the Football League for Burnley, Birmingham City, Stoke City and Shrewsbury Town over a 20-year career. Career Overson was born in Kettering, Northamptonshire, and followed his brother Richard to Burnley after playing non-league football with Corby Town and Long Buckby. He turned professional in November 1979 and spent seven seasons at Turf Moor making 254 appearances scoring seven goals. During that time Burnley suffered relegation three times whilst they won the Third Division title in 1981–82. Leslie Oliver Lawrence (born 18 May 1957) is an English former footballer who played as a forward. He scored 105 goals in 395 league and cup games during a twelve-year career in the Football League, most of which was spent in the Fourth Division.
