The 1984 SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament took place from March 7–10, 1984 at the Memorial Gymnasium on Vanderbilt University’s campus located in Nashville, Tennessee. The Kentucky Wildcats won the tournament and received the SEC's automatic bid to the 1984 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball tournament by defeating the Auburn Tigers by a score of 51–49 in the championship game on March 10. Memorial Gymnasium (Vanderbilt University)
Memorial Gymnasium is a multi-purpose facility located in Nashville, Tennessee. Usually called Memorial Gym or simply Memorial, the building is located on the western end of the Vanderbilt University campus. It was built in 1952 and currently has a seating capacity of 14,326. It serves as home court for the school's men's and women's basketball programs, and will also serve as the home of Vanderbilt's upcoming women's volleyball program, scheduled to begin play in 2025. Construction and unusual design Memorial Gymnasium was built in the early 1950s, designed by Edwin A. Keeble. Don Criqui
Don Criqui (born October 1, 1940) is an American sportscaster. He holds the record for longest-tenured NFL broadcaster in U.S. TV history, calling NFL football for 47 seasons (1967-2013) on NBC and CBS. Criqui's final NFL broadcast came on December 8, 2013, when he filled in for Bill Macatee as he was having traveling issues in a snow storm in Dallas, calling the 27-26 New England Patriots victory over the Cleveland Browns.
