1984 Memorial Cup
The 1984 Memorial Cup occurred May 12–19 at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium in Kitchener, Ontario. It was the 66th annual Memorial Cup competition and determined the major junior ice hockey champion of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). Participating teams were the host team Kitchener Rangers, as well as the winners of the Ontario Hockey League, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and Western Hockey League which were the Ottawa 67's, Laval Voisins and Kamloops Jr. Oilers. Ottawa won their first Memorial Cup, defeating Kitchener in the final game. Teams Kamloops Junior Oilers The Kamloops Junior Oilers represented the Western Hockey League at the 1984 Memorial Cup. The Junior Oilers finished the 1983–84 season as the top team in the WHL, earning a record of 50-22-0 for 100 points. The club was awarded the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy for this achievement. Kitchener Memorial Auditorium
The Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex (also known as The Aud) is a multi-use municipally-owned facility in Kitchener, Ontario, Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. The complex is located on East Avenue, near the Ottawa Street interchange on the Conestoga Parkway. The complex includes "The Kitchener Memorial Audiorium" with the ''Dom Cardillo Arena'', two smaller community arenas the ''Kinsmen Arena'' and ''Kiwanis Arena'', the ''Jack Couch Stadium'' baseball park, ''Centennial Stadium'' (track and field, soccer / football) and a skatepark outside the stadium. Kitchener Memorial Auditorium The Kitchener Memorial Audiorium, or The Aud for short, includes a main ice rink (the Dom Cardillo Arena) with a seating capacity of 7,234 and a total capacity of 7,777, including standing room. Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy
The Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy is awarded annually to the regular season champion of the Western Hockey League. It is named after one of the league's founders, Scotty Munro. Munro served as the general manager of the Estevan Bruins, and later as the head coach and general manager of the Calgary Centennials.
