1984 European Competition For Women's Football Qualifying
The qualification for the 1984 European Competition for Women's Football was held between August 18, 1982, and October 28, 1983. Teams were placed into four groups of four teams each according to geographical location — Group 1 was Northern Europe, Group 2 was Great Britain and Ireland, Group 3 was Southern Europe, Group 4 was Central Europe. Each team played each other team in its group twice, home and away, earning two points for a win and one for a draw. The first-placed teams qualified. 1984 European Competition For Women's Football
The 1984 European Competition for Women's Football was won by Sweden on penalties against England. It comprised four qualifying groups, the winner of each going through to the semi-finals which were played over two legs, home and away. As only sixteen teams took part (less than half the membership of UEFA at the time), the competition could not be granted official status. Matches comprised two halves of 35 minutes, played with a size four football. Anna Svenjeby (born 26 April 1962) is a Swedish retired football player who played as a midfielder for Kronängs IF and Jitex BK in the Swedish Championship in the late 1970s and 1980s. She won the first edition of the ''Årets Fotbollstjej Award'', the forerunner of the Diamantbollen, in 1980, and she was a member of the Swedish national team that won the 1984 European Championship. Tyresö Municipality (''Tyresö kommun'') is a municipality in Stockholm County in east central Sweden on the coast of the Baltic Sea. Most of Tyresö Municipality lies within the Stockholm urban area.
