Fimleikafélag Hafnarfjarðar ( en, Hafnarfjörður Gymnastics Club), commonly referred to as FH, is an Icelandic multi-sports club based in Hafnarfjörður. The club competes in football, handball, athletics, and fencing. It was founded in 1929 as a gymnastics club but soon started a handball department which became its flagship for several decades. Its men's football team has been a dominant power since the early 2000s. Football Men's football FH's men's football team has been a dominant power in Icelandic football since the early 2000s, winning several national championships. Women's football FH's women's football team won the first edition of the national championship in 1972. After losing the title to Ármann in 1973, FH won three successive titles in 1974, 1975 and 1976. Knattspyrnufélag Fjallabyggðar (KF) is an Icelandic football club from the towns Ólafsfjörður and Siglufjörður who form the municipality Fjallabyggð, currently playing in the 2. deild karla. Their main colours are blue and white as a tertiary. History of KS and Leiftur ''Íþróttafélagið Leiftur'', from Ólafsfjörður, having spent most of their history in the lower leagues, were promoted to the Úrvalsdeild karla for the 1988 season, but went straight back down to the 1. deild karla (at the time, the 2.deild). They were promoted again in 1994 to the top league for the 1995 Úrvalsdeild season having missed out by a point in 1993. Íþróttabandalag Ísafjarðar, commonly known as ÍBÍ, was a sports union in Ísafjörður, Iceland, best known for its football teams. In 2000, ÍBÍ merged with Héraðssamband Vestur-Ísfirðinga to form Héraðssamband Vestfirðinga. Íþróttabandalag Vestmannaeyja (ÍBV) is an Icelandic multi-sports district association from Vestmannaeyjar off the south coast of Iceland. It was founded in 1903 as Fótboltafélag Vestmannaeyja by Björgúlfur Ólafsson, military doctor for the Dutch army. It was soon renamed to Knattspyrnufélag Vestmannaeyja (KV) and then to Íþróttabandalag Vestmannaeyja (ÍBV) héraðssamband in 1945. ÍBV played as KV in the first Icelandic first league tournament in 1912. There have been formed several association entities with the ÍBV name to manage various of sports. Ungmennafélagið Skallagrímur, known as ''UMF Skallagrímur'' or just ''Skallagrímur'', is a multi-sports club from Borgarnes, Iceland. It was founded on 3 December 1916. Each sport has its own division with a separate board, football, basketball, badminton, swimming, weightlifting and athletics. Unusually for a sports club, there is a non-sport division, for acting (theatre), with the club staging a play every year. Basketball Men's basketball Skallagrímur men's basketball is the men's basketball department of Ungmennafélagið Skallagrímur. Ungmennafélag Njarðvíkur is an Icelandic multi-sports club based in Njarðvík, Reykjanesbær, on the south-west peninsula of Iceland. It is primarily known for its men's basketball team which has won the national championship 17 times. Its women's basketball team won the national championship and the basketball cup in 2012. The club also fields departments in football, swimming, power lifting, judo and triathlon. Colours The original uniform colours of the club where blue and white. In late 1973 the basketball department was in need of new uniforms and due to lack of funds they decided to select a colour that no other team was using, so they wouldn't have to buy two sets of uniforms. Ungmennafélagið Einherji is an Icelandic sports club, based in Vopnafjörður, Iceland. The club is named after the einherjar, figures from Norse Mythology. History The club was founded in Vopnafjörður on December 1, 1929, as Íþróttafélagið Einherjar. The first chairman was Ingólfur Erlendsson. The name of the club was changed to Ungmennafélagið Einherjar in 1943 and later to Ungmennafélagið Einherji. In 1974 the club played in the Icelandic 3rd division (2. deild karla) for the first time. The team got promoted to the 2nd division ( 1. deild karla) for the first time in 1981. In the eighties the team played six seasons in the 2nd division reaching the club's record high; 5th place in 1986.
