is a Japanese mecha anime television series created by Sunrise and directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino. Uchuu Keiji Gavan
, also known as ''Space Cop Gabin'' and ''Space Cop Gaban'', is a Japanese Tokusatsu series produced by Toei Company that aired on TV Asahi from March 5, 1982 to February 25, 1983. The series launched the Metal Hero franchise and was the first installment in the ''Space Sheriff'' series. Plot Earth is invaded by the criminal organization known as Makuu, led by Don Horror, who had first destroyed a space colony near Earth. Don Horror wants to dominate the whole universe, and the Earth represents an obstacle that he has to overcome by turning it into a domain for all evil. In response to Makuu's attack, Space Sheriff Gavan of the is deployed to Earth to defend his mother's home world. is a Japanese talent show from Nippon Television that ran from 1971 to 1983. On October 24, 1982, the series was retitled to reflect its switch from monaural to stereo broadcasting. On April 3, 1983, it was again retitled to . The show was created by songwriter Yū Aku, who also served as one of the judges. In 2021, Nippon TV reused the title for the music show ''Nogizaka Star Tanjō!'', hosted by comedy duo Pekopa and starring members of girl group Nogizaka46, which ran for two seasons. is an anime television series produced first by Zuiyo Enterprise and Asahi Broadcasting Corporation of Osaka. After the first 6 episodes, Zuiyo Enterprise would split into Zuiyo Company and Nippon Animation, which retained the rights of the series. The series consisted of 52 episodes and was originally telecast from April 1975 to April 1976 on the NET (now TV Asahi) network, with which ABC (not to be confused with the Tokyo-based TV Asahi) is affiliated.
