1983 Volvo Grand Prix
The 1983 Volvo Grand Prix was a professional tennis circuit held that year. It incorporated the four grand slam (tennis), grand slam tournaments, the Grand Prix tennis circuit, Grand Prix tournaments, and two team tournaments (the Davis Cup and the World Team Cup. The Grand Slam in tennis is the achievement of winning all four major championships in one discipline in a calendar year, also referred to as the "Calendar-year Grand Slam" or "Calendar Slam". In doubles, a team may accomplish the Grand Slam playing together or a player may achieve it with different partners. Winning all four major championships consecutively but not within the same calendar year is referred to as a "non-calendar-year Grand Slam", while winning the four majors at any point during the course of a career is known as a "Career Grand Slam". Francisco González (born November 19, 1955) played professional tennis in the 1970s and 1980s. He represented Paraguay in Davis Cup and played collegiate tennis at the Ohio State University. Bernard Boileau
Bernard Boileau (born 25 May 1959) is a former professional tennis player from Belgium. Career Boileau was the Belgian national champion every year from 1978 to 1983. During that time he was a regular fixture in the Belgian Davis Cup team. The Belgian appeared in a total of 14 Davis Cup ties for his country, the first in 1977 and last in 1985. He appeared in 38 rubbers, of which he won 22, 16 of them in singles and six in doubles. José Luis Clerc (born 16 August 1958) is a former professional tennis player from Argentina. He reached a career-high Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) world No. 4 singles ranking on 3 August 1981, following a run of 25 consecutive match wins after Wimbledon.
