North Melbourne Football Club
The North Melbourne Football Club, nicknamed the Kangaroos, is a professional Australian rules football club. The men's team competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), and the women's team in the AFL Women's (AFLW). The Kangaroos also field a reserves men's team in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Founded in the suburb of North Melbourne in 1869 and based at the Arden Street Oval, it is the 4th oldest club in the competition and one of the oldest surviving clubs in the world. David O'Halloran
David Neil O'Halloran (8 September 1955 – 11 April 2013) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Hawthorn in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Recruited from Ivanhoe Grammar School, O'Halloran debuted for Hawthorn in 1976 as a defender and was a premiership player that year. Nicknamed "Rubber", O'Halloran won another premiership with Hawthorn in 1983 and after being on the losing grand final team two years later he left Hawthorn, finishing with 160 games. Chris Mew
Chris Mew (born 7 May 1961) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Hawthorn in the Victorian/Australian Football League. A defender, Mew usually played at centre half-back and was a five-time premiership player, in 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989 and 1991. Gary Ayres
Gary James Ayres (born 28 September 1960) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Hawthorn Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He is currently the senior coach for the Montrose Football Club in the Eastern Football Netball League (EFNL). Ayres' playing career is honored by the existence of the Gary Ayres Award, an annual award given to the player judged best-afield by the AFL Coaches Association throughout each AFL finals series. Richmond Football Club
The Richmond Football Club, nicknamed the Tigers, is an Australian rules football team playing in the Australian Football League (AFL). Between its inception in the Melbourne suburb of Richmond in 1885 and 1907, the club competed in the Victorian Football Association (VFA), winning two premierships. Colin Robertson (Australian Rules Footballer)
Colin Robertson (born 19 June 1957) is a former Australian rules footballer who represented Hawthorn in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1980s. A hard running player, Robertson was a versatile footballer who could play across half back, on wing or on the ball. Robertson spent six seasons with Tasmanian club Wynyard, playing in premierships with the club in 1975 and 1979 before joining Hawthorn the following season. Robertson became a key part of the club's dominance during the early 1980s. In the 1983 VFL Grand Final he became the first Tasmanian to win the Norm Smith Medal after a superb tagging job on Essendon's dangerous rover Tim Watson. In 1987 Robertson returned to Tasmania to captain the Burnie Hawks in the Tasmanian State League for three seasons. In the last season he was Captain-Coach. Norm Smith Medal
The Norm Smith Medal is an Australian rules football award presented annually to the player adjudged the best on ground in the Grand Final of the Australian Football League (AFL). Prior to 1990 the competition was known as the Victorian Football League (VFL). It was first presented in the 1979 VFL Grand Final, and was won by Wayne Harmes, playing in Carlton's premiership victory against Collingwood. The award is named in honour of Norm Smith who won four VFL premierships as a player and six as coach for the Melbourne Football Club.
