Swedish Football Division 2
Division 2 is the fourth level in the Swedish football league system, league system of Swedish football and comprises 84 Swedish football (soccer), football teams. Division 2 had status as the official second level from 1928 to 1986 but was replaced by Division 1 (Swedish football), Division 1 in 1987. It then had status as the official third level until 2005 but was replaced once again by the recreated Division 1 in 2006. Overview In the Division, there are 84 clubs which are divided in six groups of 14 teams each representing a geographical area. During the course of a season (starting in April and ending in October) each club plays the others twice, once at their home stadium and once at that of their opponents, for a total of 26 games. IFK Västerås is a Swedish football club located in Västerås. Background Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna Västerås were formed in 1898 and at their best played in series games in Sweden for several seasons in Sweden's next highest division; the first season in 1924/1925, and last time in 1987. Helsingborgs IF (full name Helsingborgs Idrottsförening), commonly referred to as HIF (), is a Swedish professional football club located in Helsingborg. They play in the Swedish first tier, Allsvenskan, following promotion in the 2021 Superettan season via play-offs. Formed in 1907, the club has won five national championship titles and five national cup titles. Helsingborgs IF have also won Allsvenskan on two occasions when the title of Swedish champions was not decided by the outcome of that league. Helsingborg was a founder member of Allsvenskan, and between 1924 and 1968 they spent all but two seasons in the top division, and won the league five times.
