Coatbridge
Coatbridge ( sco, Cotbrig or Coatbrig, gd, Drochaid a' Chòta) is a town in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, about east of Glasgow city centre, set in the central Lowlands. Jim Baker is a former Northern Irish international lawn and indoor bowler. Bowls career Baker was born in Belfast on 18 February 1958. After finishing runner-up in the 1982 World Indoor Bowls Championship he went one better in 1984 clinching the World Indoor title. Baker was part of the Gold Medal-winning triples for the combined Irish team in the 1984 World Outdoor Bowls Championship and Gold Medal-winning fours in the 1988 World Outdoor Bowls Championship. In the 2004 World Championships he won a third gold medal for the combined Irish team, in the fours with Jonathan Ross, Noel Graham and Neil Booth and a silver medal with Noel Graham in the pairs during the 2004 World Outdoor Bowls Championship. John Haydn Price is a former Welsh international lawn and indoor bowler and current bowls commentator. Bowls career Early life Brought into the game by his grandparents at the age of 10, and as a schoolboy, he initially played only during the summer holidays, winning a couple of open tournaments in partnership with his father Harry. He started to take bowls seriously after earning his first Wales cap in 1979. John Fullarton (bowls)
John Fullarton (c.1645 – 1727), of Greenhall, Argyll, was a Scottish clergyman and nonjurant Episcopal Bishop of Edinburgh between 1720 and 1727. Origins Fullarton was the son of James McCloy, alias Fullarton, of Ballochindryan and Jean Stewart, the daughter of John Stewart of Ascog. His grandfather is thought to have been Duncan, or Donald McCloy, minister at Kilmodan between at least 1609 and 1629, who was still alive as late as 1659, when he received a grant from the Synod of Argyll because of his poverty. Career Fullarton obtained the degree of Master of Arts from Glasgow University in 1665. Following his ordination, he was minister at Kilmodan from 1669 to 1684 and at Paisley between 1684 and 1689, whence he was ejected at the Revolution. Robert Wodrow recorded in 1703 that Fullarton was present with other Episcopal clergy at a service in Glasgow to commemorate the execution of Charles I, and he also preached there. Peter Bryant (27 October 1923 – 19 May 2006) was an English television producer, script editor and former actor. He acted in ''The Grove Family'' as a regular cast member and later became the producer of ''Doctor Who'' from 1967 to 1969 during Patrick Troughton's tenure as the Second Doctor. He also produced the series ''Paul Temple'' before becoming a literary agent. Career Bryant was originally an actor and appeared in the 1950s soap opera ''The Grove Family''. Later, he became a BBC Radio announcer while writing radio scripts as a sideline.
