1982 Gent–Wevelgem
The 1982 Gent–Wevelgem was the 44th edition of the Gent–Wevelgem cycle race and was held on 7 April 1982. The race started in Ghent and finished in Wevelgem. The race was won by Frank Hoste of the TI–Raleigh TI–Raleigh was a Dutch professional track cycling and road bicycle racing team between 1972 and 1983. In that decade the team won over 900 races. The team was created and led by Peter Post. In his own cycling career, his nickname was the ''Six D ... team. Frank Hoste
Frank Hoste (born 29 August 1955, in Ghent) is a retired Belgian racing cyclist, who won the points classification in the Tour de France in 1984 as well as three stage victories. Hoste was a professional cyclist from 1977 to 1991, then he started a bicycle factory. He rode in 13 grand tours throughout his career, eight times in the Tour de France and five times in the Giro d'Italia. All total he won five stages in the Tour de France and during the 1983 Giro d'Italia he came in the top 5 on eight different stages, one of which was a stage win.
