1982 FA Charity Shield
The 1982 FA Charity Shield was a football match between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on 21 August 1982. Liverpool, managed by Bob Paisley had won the 1981–82 Football League, and Tottenham, managed by Keith Burkinshaw had won the 1982 FA Cup Final for the second season in a row. In doing so the teams qualified for the season opener which was played the week before the new league season kicked off. Ian Rush scored the only goal in the thirty-second minute to win the trophy for a ninth time for Liverpool. Alan David Hansen (born 13 June 1955) is a Scottish former footballer and BBC television football pundit. Chris Hughton
Christopher William Gerard Hughton (born 11 December 1958) is a professional football manager and former player. Born in England, he represented the Republic of Ireland national team. After making his professional debut aged 20, Hughton spent most of his playing career with Tottenham Hotspur as a left back, leaving in 1990 after 13 years. Craig Peter Johnston (born 25 June 1960) is a South African-born Australian former professional footballer. Graeme Souness
Graeme James Souness (; born 6 May 1953) is a Scottish former professional football player and manager, and current TV pundit. A midfielder, Souness was the captain of the successful Liverpool team of the early 1980s, player-manager of Rangers in the late 1980s and captain of the Scotland national team.
