American football (referred to simply as football in the United States and Canada), also known as gridiron, is a team sport played by two teams of eleven players on a rectangular field with goalposts at each end. The offense, the team with possession of the oval-shaped football, attempts to advance down the field by running with the ball or passing it, while the defense, the team without possession of the ball, aims to stop the offense's advance and to take control of the ball for themselves. Conrad Goode
Conrad Lawrence Goode (born January 9, 1962) is an American actor, screenwriter, film producer, musician, artist and former professional NFL player. Early life and education Goode was born in Columbia, Missouri and attended Parkway Central High School. He is the stepson of Irv Goode and the son of former Mizzou All-American Conrad Hitchler. He played college football at the University of Missouri and was named a first-team All-American in 1983 by the United Press. Career Goode was drafted in the fourth round of the 1984 NFL Draft by the New York Giants. The 1982 College Football All-America team is composed of college football players who were selected as All-Americans by various organizations and writers that chose College Football All-America Teams in 1982. Gregory Lee Best (born January 14, 1960) is a former American football defensive back who played in the National Football League (NFL) with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Browns. Demetrious Johnson (American Football)
Demetrious Johnson (July 21, 1961 – December 24, 2022) was an American professional football player in the National Football League (NFL), having played for the Detroit Lions and the Miami Dolphins. Johnson was a native St. Louisan who grew up in the Darst-Webbe Housing Project. He was the youngest of eight children and was raised by a single parent. He attended his freshman year at pattonville high school. He then graduated from McKinley High School, and earned a full athletic scholarship to attend the University of Missouri, Columbia. Victor Ramone Scott (born June 1, 1962) is a former American football defensive back in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys. He played professionally in the National Football League (NFL) for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, San Francisco 49ers and the Phoenix Cardinals. Jackie Vernold Shipp (born March 19, 1962) is an American football coach and former player. Shipp was the defensive line coach for the Oklahoma Sooners football team until his departure in the 2013 offseason. He had been on the Sooners' coaching staff since the arrival of Bob Stoops in 1999. He was the defensive line coach at Arizona State from 2013-2015, and was the defensive line coach at the University of Missouri for part of the 2016 season.
