The 1981–82 NBA season was the Rockets' 15th season in the NBA and 11th season in the city of Houston. Del Harris
Delmer William Harris (born June 18, 1937) is an American basketball coach who is currently the vice president of the Texas Legends, the NBA G League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks. He served as a head coach for the NBA's Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks, and Los Angeles Lakers, as well as the Legends. He was also an assistant coach for the National Basketball Association's New Jersey Nets, Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks, Milwaukee Bucks, and the Houston Rockets. Early life and college career Harris is a 1955 graduate of Plainfield High School in Plainfield, Indiana. He was inducted into the first class of Plainfield High School's Hall of Fame. Harris graduated from Milligan College in 1959 ''cum laude'' with a bachelor's degree in religious studies. Fred Cowan (basketball)
Fred Cowan is a Kentucky politician. He currently serves as a Kentucky Circuit Judge of the 30th judicial district in Louisville. He is a former Kentucky Attorney General (1988–1992) and former member of the Kentucky State House of Representatives for the 32nd district (1982–1987). Cowan is one of the few Kentuckians who has been elected to all three branches of Kentuckian State Government. Cowan was born on October 11, 1945, in New York City to Mary Virginia Wesley of Union County, Kentucky, and Frederic Sr., also of New York City. At age 8 he moved to Sturgis, Kentucky and a year later moved to Louisville where he attended Bloom Elementary, Highland Middle, and Atherton High School. In 1967 Cowan graduated from Dartmouth College and served in the Peace Corps in Dessie, Ethiopia (1967–1969). 1981–82 Dallas Mavericks Season
The 1981–82 Dallas Mavericks season was the second season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Rookie Jay Vincent led the team in scoring with 21.4 points per game and earned NBA All-Rookie Team honors. The Mavericks improved to 28–54, getting out of the Midwest Division cellar as they finished above the Utah Jazz. The Mavs selected 6'6" forward Mark Aguirre with the first pick, 6'6" guard Rolando Blackman 9th, and 6'7" forward Jay Vincent 24th. Carroll Dawson is an American former assistant coach and general manager in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He worked for the Houston Rockets franchise for 27 years before retiring in 2007. Petersburg High School is located in Petersburg, Virginia, and is the only high school in Petersburg City Public Schools. Petersburg High School is located on Johnson Road in Petersburg, Virginia. The new school combined the old Petersburg High School on Washington Street (currently the Appomattox Regional Governor's School) and the old Peabody High School (currently Peabody Middle School) on Wesley Street.
