Fredy Schmidtke (1 July 1961 – 1 December 2017) was a German track cyclist. Wilfried Peffgen (1 October 1942 – 11 May 2021) was a German cyclist who was active between 1959 and 1983. Biography He won a medal at every UCI Motor-paced World Championships between 1976 and 1982, including three gold medals in 1976, 1978 and 1980. He also won eight European titles in 1971, 1973 and 1976–1981. As a road cyclist, he competed at the 1964 Summer Olympics in the individual road race and finished in sixth place. René Kos
René Kos (born 17 October 1955) is a retired cyclist from the Netherlands. He had his best achievements in motor-paced racing, winning the world championships in 1981 and finishing in second place in 1983; he also finished second in 1980 but was disqualified for failing the doping test. He won the national motor-paced cycling championships in 1981, 1982, 1984 and 1985. As a track cyclist he competed in 28 six-day races with the best result of third place in the race of Buenos Aires. After retirement he worked as a cycling coach. He was also active as a race organizer and a pacer in motor-paced racing. In 2009, he was invited to prepare the Iranian track team for the 2010 Asian Games, but had to refuse due to the uncertain security situation. Giuseppe Saronni (born 22 September 1957), also known as Beppe Saronni, is an Italian former racing cyclist. He had remarkable success riding in the Giro d'Italia. In 1980 he won 7 stages and finished 7th overall, in 1981 he won 3 stages and finished 3rd overall. Urs Freuler (born 6 November 1958 in Bilten, Canton of Glarus) is a Swiss cyclist, who raced professionally between 1980 and 1997, during which he won 124 victories. He was named Swiss Sports Personality of the Year in 1982 and 1983. He was born in Bilten. As an amateur, he was the champion of his country in several categories and also achieved fame in international competitions. He was a racer of great speed, who participated both in road races as well as track cycling.
