1981 Taça De Portugal Final
The 1981 Taça de Portugal Final was the final match of the 1980–81 Taça de Portugal, the 41st season of the Taça de Portugal, the premier Portuguese football cup competition organized by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). The match was played on 6 June 1981 at the Estádio Nacional in Oeiras, and opposed two Primeira Liga sides: Benfica and Porto. Benfica defeated Porto 3–1 to claim the Taça de Portugal for a seventeenth time. In Portugal, the final was televised live on RTP. As a result of the ''Águias'' claiming both the league and cup double in the same season, cup runners-up Porto faced their cup final opponents in the 1981 Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira. Frederico Rosa
Frederico Nobre Rosa (6 April 1957 – 17 February 2019), known simply as Frederico, was a Portuguese professional footballer who played as a central defender. Club career Frederico was born in Castro Verde, Baixo Alentejo. During his club career he played for CUF, Barreirense, Benfica (having to compete with the likes of Humberto Coelho – his idol – he featured solely as a backup during four years), Boavista (his most steady period, with eight consecutive Primeira Liga seasons, nearly 300 official appearances and team captaincy), Vitória de Guimarães, Estrela da Amadora and Leixões. António Lima Pereira
António José Lima Pereira (1 February 1952 – 22 January 2022) was a Portuguese footballer who played as a central defender. Club career Born in Póvoa de Varzim, Lima Pereira started playing professionally for hometown club Varzim, making his Primeira Liga debut in the 1976–77 season at the age of 24. Two years later he signed with Porto, where he would remain for the following 11 campaigns. Lima Pereira appeared in 265 competitive games during his spell at the Estádio das Antas, winning four national championships, two domestic cups and four Supercups. He also reached the final of the 1983–84 European Cup Winners' Cup as his team lost to Juventus 2–1. António José de Oliveira Meireles (9 April 1951 – 28 December 2021), known as Tibi, was a Portuguese footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Francisco António Lucas Vital (born 27 June 1954) is a Portuguese former football forward and manager. Playing career Born in Braga, Vital spent all of his early career in the second division, mainly with G.D. Riopele. In 1977 he signed with FC Porto, going on to be irregularly played by the Primeira Liga club during his two-and-a-half-season spell and winning two national championships, contributing with a career-best 21 games and five goals in the 1978–79 edition. Fernando Albino de Sousa Chalana (; 10 February 1959 – 10 August 2022) was a Portuguese football player and manager. Widely regarded as one of the greatest talents of his era in Portuguese football, the diminutive left winger's main asset was his ball control and dribbling skills.
