Adam Cheng
Adam Cheng Siu-chow (born 24 February 1947) is a Hong Kong TVB actor and Cantopop singer. Career Cheng started his career in the 1970s, where he gained a reputation for playing the lead roles in TVB ''Wuxia'' drama series based on the works of Louis Cha and Gu Long, such as ''The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber'' and '' Chor Lau Heung''. He also performed some of the theme songs of the TV series he starred in, such as ''The Greed of Man'' and ''Cold Blood Warm Heart''. Joseph Koo Kar-Fai, MBE, GBS (born 3 February 1933), is a Hong Kong composer, who is considered one of the most respected composers in Hong Kong. Wong Jim
James Wong Jim (; 18 March 1941 – 24 November 2004, also known as "霑叔" or "Uncle Jim") was a Cantopop lyricist and songwriter based primarily in Hong Kong. Beginning from the 1960s, he was the lyricist for over 2,000 songs, collaborating with songwriter Joseph Koo ( Koo Kar-Fai) on many popular television theme songs, many of which have become classics of the genre. His work propelled Cantopop to unprecedented popularity. He was also well known in Asia as a columnist, actor, film director, screenwriter, and talk show host. Samuel Hui
Samuel Hui Koon-kit (born 6 September 1948), usually known as Sam Hui, is a Hong Kong musician, singer, songwriter and actor. He is credited with popularising Cantopop both via the infusion of Western-style music and his usage of vernacular Cantonese rather than written vernacular Chinese in biting lyrics that addressed contemporary problems and concerns. Hui is considered by some to be the first major superstar of Cantopop, known as the God of Song. Kenneth Choi Fung-Wah (; born 28 November 1960) is a singer and actor from Hong Kong. Before his music career, he worked at a summer job for approximately . He enrolled in a radio singing contest and won . He composed the music for the 1981 song, "Beautiful Silhouette" (, "Sin Ying"), which won an award at the 1981 RTHK Top 10 Gold Songs Awards. Roman Tam
Roman Tam Pak-sin (; 12 February 1945– 18 October 2002), known professionally by his stage name Law Man (), was a Hong Kong singer. He is regarded as the "Grand Godfather of Cantopop". Michael Kwan Ching-kit is a Hong Kong Cantopop singer previously with the Philips label (the brand Polygram was not adopted until later in Hong Kong), and later with EMI. Alan Tam Wing-lun MH (; born 23 August 1950) is a Hong Kong singer and actor. Jenny Tseng (, Yan Nei; born Yan Suk Si (); 20 February 1953) is a singer, actress, and producer from Macau. She is best known in Cantonese-speaking regions, and she has been based in Hong Kong for much of her career. George Lam
George Lam Tsz-Cheung (born 12 October 1947), also known professionally by his surname Lam, is a Hong Kong-based veteran Cantopop singer, singer-songwriter, music producer and actor, with a career that has so far lasted more than four decades. Lam produces most of his own albums, writes many of his own songs, occasionally writes for other artists, and covers other people's songs. Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs Awards () is one of the main C-pop music award in Hong Kong. The award is sponsored by RTHK. Beginning in 1978, it is the oldest major award in Hong Kong, even earlier than the Jade Solid Gold Top 10 Awards. The ceremony is usually held in January following the end of the previous music season. It usually takes place at the Hong Kong Coliseum, sometimes at the Sha Tin Racecourse.
