Ekstraklasa
Poland Ekstraklasa (), meaning "Extra Class" in Polish, named PKO Ekstraklasa since the 2019–20 season due to its sponsorship by PKO Bank Polski, is the top Polish professional league for men's association football teams. Contested by 18 clubs, operating a system of promotion and relegation with the I liga, seasons start in July, and end in May or June the following year. Teams play a total of 34 games each. Games are played on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. The winner of the Ekstraklasa qualifies for the Polish SuperCup. The league is now operated by the Ekstraklasa Spółka Akcyjna. Górnik Zabrze Spółka Akcyjna, commonly referred to as Górnik Zabrze S.A. or simply Górnik Zabrze (), is a Polish football club from Zabrze. Górnik is one of the most successful Polish football clubs in history, winning the second-most Polish Championship titles together with Ruch Chorzów. Tomasz Korynt
Tomasz Korynt (born 27 October 1954) was a former Polish international footballer who played as a forward. He spent the start of his career with teams in the Tricity area, starting his career with Lechia Gdańsk, before later playing for Arka Gdynia and Bałtyk Gdynia. In his later career he spent time in France playing for Limoges, and in Austria with First Vienna, Favoritner AC and USC Seitenstetten. He is the son of Polish international Roman Korynt. Career Lechia Gdańsk Korynt started his career with Lechia Gdańsk, firstly playing with the youth team before advancing to the first team in 1971. Andrzej Iwan
Andrzej Iwan (10 November 1959 – 27 December 2022) was a Polish professional footballer who played as a forward. Club career Iwan made first steps on a long football career in Wanda Kraków, but in 1976 he moved to Wisła Kraków where he entered professional football, contributing a great deal to the title in 1978. He played 198 games and scored 69 goals for Wisła Kraków, before he was transferred to Górnik Zabrze. In next two years he proved to be a key player for a new team, a dominant force in the middle of 80s in Polish football. As he started career as a striker, he experienced transformation in Górnik Zabrze into a playmaker. He spent the last years of his professional career abroad (VfL Bochum, Aris Saloniki) punctuated by short returns to Górnik Zabrze. Andrzej Szarmach
Andrzej Szarmach (; born 3 October 1950) is a former Polish football player. He played in the Polish national team during its "golden age" in the 1970s. With Grzegorz Lato at his right, Robert Gadocha at his left, and Kazimierz Deyna in support, Szarmach profited from the absence of Włodzimierz Lubański to lead the Polish attack, the best at 1974 World Cup, with sixteen goals. While Lato finished first in the Cup in goals with seven, Szarmach, with five goals, also marked the competition with his imprint. He confirmed his status two years later at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, winning the silver medal and the title of best player of the tournament, with nine goals. Jowled and moustached, the Polish attacker had a Gallic quality and thus easily fit in at AJ Auxerre. Roman Grzegorz Ogaza (17 November 1952 – 5 March 2006) was a Polish football player. Life and work Roman Ogaza was born 17 November in Katowice. He was a striker. His first club was Górnik Lędziny (1965–1968 and after fusion GKS Tychy), next clubs: Górnik Zabrze (1968–1970), Szombierki Bytom (1970–1975 and 1978–1983), French teams: RC Lens (1983–1984) and Olympique Alès (1984–1986), US Forbach (1987–1991) and SG Marienau (1991) and Belgian Royal Francs Borains (1986). Kazimierz Kmiecik
Kazimierz Kmiecik (born 19 September 1951 in Węgrzce Wielkie) is a Polish former international football player who played most of his career for Wisła Kraków, where he played 304 league matches and scored 153 goals. This makes him the best goalscorer in history of the club. He also played for AEL (1982 to 1985) and won the first Greek cup for the history of the team, in 1985. I liga ( pl, Pierwsza liga, ), currently named Fortuna I liga due to its sponsorship by Fortuna, is the men's second professional association football division of the Polish football league system, below the Ekstraklasa and above the II liga via promotion/relegation systems.
