1980 NAIA Soccer Championship
The 1980 NAIA Soccer Championship was the 22nd annual tournament held by the NAIA to determine the national champion of men's college soccer among its members in the United States and Canada. Three-time defending champions Quincy (IL) defeated Simon Fraser in the final, 1–0, to claim the Hawks' tenth NAIA national title. The final was again played at Sangamon State University in Springfield, Illinois. Qualification The tournament field remained fixed at ten teams. Two consolation games were eliminated, however,reducing the number of games from fifteen to thirteen. NAIA Men's Soccer Championship
The NAIA Men's Soccer Championship is the annual tournament to determine the national champions of NAIA men's collegiate soccer in the United States and Canada. It has been held annually since 1959. The most successful program is Quincy (IL), with 11 NAIA national titles. The current champion is Bethel (IN), which won its first men's national title in 2022. Defending champions Quincy (IL) defeated Alabama–Huntsville in the final, 2–0, to claim the Hawks' eighth NAIA national title. The final was played in Huntsville, Alabama. The 1980 NCAA Division II Soccer Championship was the ninth annual tournament held by the NCAA to determine the top men's Division II college soccer program in the United States. Lock Haven State defeated Florida International in the final, 1–0 (after one overtime period), to win their first Division II national title (the Bald Eagles won the Division III tournament in both 1977 and 1978). The final was played at Florida International University in Miami, Florida on November 29, 1980. 1980 NCAA Division I Soccer Tournament
The 1980 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament was the 22nd organized men's college soccer tournament by the National Collegiate Athletic Association, to determine the top college soccer team in the United States. The San Francisco Dons won their fourth national title (their 1978 title and tournament wins were vacated by the NCAA) by defeating the Indiana Hoosiers in the championship game, 4–3, after one overtime period. Oddly, this was re-match of the 1978 tournament final won by San Francisco but later vacated by the NCAA. The final match was played on December 14, 1980, in Tampa, Florida, at Tampa Stadium for the third straight year. Wilmington Quakers
Wilmington College is a private college in Wilmington, Ohio. It was established by Quakers in 1870 and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. In fall 2018, the college set an enrollment record, bringing in 450 new students for the academic year, totaling 1,103 students on Wilmington's main campus, and 139 students at Wilmington's two Cincinnati branches at Blue Ash and Cincinnati State. History In 1863 three brothers, Hugh, James, and Thomas Garvin founded Franklin College in Albany, Ohio. After two years in Albany, the college was relocated to Wilmington, where the cornerstone of College Hall was laid on 4 July 1866. The institution was closed in 1868 following the Civil War. In 1870 the half-completed Franklin College building went up for auction. The building and 33 surrounding acres were purchased by the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). Rockhurst University is a private school, private Society of Jesus, Jesuit university in Kansas City, Missouri. Founded in 1910 as Rockhurst College, Rockhurst University is School accreditation, accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. It enrolled 2,980 students in 2019. History In 1909, Fr.
