1980 Idaho Vandals Football Team
The 1980 Idaho Vandals football team represented the University of Idaho in the 1980 NCAA Division I-AA football season. The Vandals were led by third-year head coach Jerry Davitch and were members of the Big Sky Conference. They played their home games at the Kibbie Dome, an indoor facility on campus in Moscow, Idaho. Jerry Davitch
Jerry J. Davitch (born June 9, 1941) is a former college football coach and secondary school administrator. Since 2004, he has served as the superintendent of schools in Richland Township, just northeast of Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Davitch served in a similar capacity for eight years (1996–2004) in nearby Conemaugh Township in Davidsville. He was previously the principal of Conemaugh Township High School and its head football coach. Playing career The son of immigrant parents, Davitch played on the offensive line at Greater Johnstown High School in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Aplastic Anemia
Aplastic anemia is a cancer in which the body fails to make blood cells in sufficient numbers. Blood cells are produced in the bone marrow by stem cells that reside there. Aplastic anemia causes a deficiency of all blood cell types: red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. 1988 Seattle Seahawks Season
The 1988 Seattle Seahawks season was the team's 13th season with the National Football League (NFL). The Seahawks won their first division title in the AFC West. Sam Merriman (born May 5, 1961) is a former American football player, a linebacker in the National Football League for five seasons. Selected in the seventh round of the 1983 NFL draft by the Seattle Seahawks, he played college football for the University of Idaho in the Big Sky Conference.
