The 1980 Copa del Rey Final was the 78th final of the King's Cup, Spain's premier football competition. The final was played at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, on 4 June 1980, and was won by Real Madrid, who beat their own reserve team Castilla 6–1. 1979–80 Copa Del Rey
The 1979–80 Copa del Rey was the 78th staging of the Spanish Cup, the annual domestic cup competition in the Spanish football. The tournament was attended by 226 teams from the main categories of Spanish football. The tournament began on 11 September 1979 and ended on 4 June 1980 with the final, held in Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid. The final was an unusual event as Real Madrid CF faced their reserve team Castilla CF. The final score was 6–1 with Real Madrid getting their fourteenth title and avenging their loss in the final last year. This win added to the league title gave the double (third in their history) and Castilla CF qualified directly for the next edition of the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. Agustín (footballer)
Agustín Rodríguez Santiago (born 10 September 1959) known simply as Agustín, is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Club career Even though he had already trained with the first team, Agustín, a Real Madrid youth graduate, was definitely promoted into its ranks for the 1980–81 season. On 4 April 1981, he benefitted from injury to starter Mariano García Remón to make his La Liga debut, against UD Salamanca. Agustín conquered the Ricardo Zamora Trophy for 1982–83 (29 matches, 25 goals), but was almost always only a backup, consecutively to Miguel Ángel, José Manuel Ochotorena and Francisco Buyo. Vujadin Boškov
Vujadin Boškov ( sr-cyr, Вујадин Бошков, ; 16 May 1931 – 27 April 2014) was a Serbian footballer and manager. A midfielder, he played 57 matches for the Yugoslav national team. He experienced his greatest success as a coach in 1990, when he won the European Cup Winners' Cup with Sampdoria. He also reached the European Cup final in 1981 with Real Madrid and 1992 with Sampdoria. Roberto Juan Martínez Martínez (born 25 September 1946) is an Argentine-born footballer who played as a forward. Club career He was born in Argentina, but naturalized as a Spanish citizen and played for the Spain national football team. Known as a long-beard, he was a good header and good kicker with his right leg. He began his career in Argentina where he defended the colors of Nueva Chicago club in Primera B, club held a strong dispute over an unconsumed transfer to the Cerro de Montevideo club. Laurie Cunningham
Laurence Paul Cunningham (8 March 1956 – 15 July 1989) was an English professional footballer. A left winger, he notably played in England, France and Spain, where he became the first ever British player to sign for Real Madrid. Cunningham had signed a schoolboy contract with Arsenal in 1970, but was released in 1972 as his style of play was deemed incompatible with the Gunners’ “give and go” tactics. José Antonio Camacho
José Antonio Camacho Alfaro (; born 8 June 1955) is a Spanish former football left-back and manager. He spent 15 professional years at Real Madrid, appearing in more than 500 official matches with the team and helping win 19 major titles, including nine La Liga championships. Pirri
José Martínez Sánchez (born 11 March 1945), nicknamed Pirri, is a Spanish former footballer. A central midfielder in the early part of his career, he finished up as a sweeper. He spent the vast majority of his career with Real Madrid, appearing in 561 competitive matches and scoring 172 goals while winning 15 titles. He also served as captain of the club. Gregorio "Goyo" Benito Rubio (21 October 1946 – 2 April 2020) was a Spanish footballer who played as a central defender. He spent most of his 16-year professional career with Real Madrid. Club career Benito was born in El Puente del Arzobispo, Province of Toledo, Castile-La Mancha.
