1980 CONCACAF Pre-Olympic Tournament
The 1980 CONCACAF Pre-Olympic Tournament was the fifth edition of the CONCACAF Pre-Olympic Tournament, the quadrennial, international football tournament organised by the CONCACAF to determine which national teams from the North, Central America and Caribbean region qualify for the Olympic football tournament. The top two teams, champions, Costa Rica and the United States, qualified for the 1980 Summer Olympics. However, the United States, boycotted the Olympic games and they were replaced by Cuba. Javier Jiménez (Costa Rican Footballer)
Javier Jiménez Báez (born 1 August 1952 in Alajuela) is a retired Costa Rican football player. Club career Nicknamed ''el Zurdo'', Jiménez played 12 years for Alajuelense, making his senior debut in 1972. In 1978, he had a 4-month spell at Guanacasteca and in 1982 he had a stint abroad with Honduran side Real España. CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournament
The CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifying Championship was a quadrennial, international, age-restricted football tournament organized by CONCACAF to determine which men's under-23 national teams from the North, Central America and Caribbean region qualify for the Olympic football tournament. The competition format had varied since its inception, from 1996 to the final edition in 2020 it had been hosted in a single country. On 16 September 2021, CONCACAF announced that the representatives at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games will qualify through the 2022 CONCACAF U-20 Championship. The two finalist at the Concacaf u20 tournament will qualify for the Olympics in 2024. The 1964 CONCACAF Pre-Olympic Tournament was the first edition of the CONCACAF Pre-Olympic Tournament, the quadrennial, international football tournament organised by CONCACAF to determine which national teams from the North, Central America and Caribbean region qualify for the Olympic football tournament. The Caribbean Football Union (CFU) is the representative organization for football associations in the Caribbean. The Unión Centroamericana de Fútbol (Central American Football Union), more commonly known by the acronym UNCAF, represents the national football teams of Central America: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama. Don "Mad Hatter" Ebert is a retired U.S. soccer forward who spent most of his career with two indoor clubs, the St. Louis Steamers and the Los Angeles Lazers. Youth Ebert attended Rosary High School in St. Louis, Missouri.
