The 1979 Copa del Rey Final was the 77th final of the Spanish cup competition, the Copa del Rey. The final was played at Vicente Calderón in Madrid on 30 June 1979. The match was won by Valencia CF, who beat Real Madrid 2 – 0. Valencia won the cup for the fifth time. Real Zaragoza, S.A.D. Daniel Solsona Puig (born 18 January 1952) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Born in Cornellà de Llobregat, Barcelona, Catalonia, Solsona played in 373 La Liga games over 13 seasons in which he represented RCD Español and Valencia CF, scoring 65 goals in the process. He made his debut in the competition at only 18, featuring for the former in a 0–0 home draw against Real Sociedad on 27 September 1970. Rainer Bonhof
Rainer Bonhof (born 29 March 1952) is a German former professional footballer, who played as a defensive midfielder or wing-back. He was known for his occasional bursts upfield and his fierce shot. He was a key player for the 1974 West Germany national team that won the World Cup (defeating the Netherlands 2–1 in the final, where he provided the assist to the winning goal). José Cerveró San Braulio (3 September 1949 – 17 July 2024) was a Spanish footballer who played as a left back. He played 277 official matches for Valencia CF between 1974 and 1983, winning the Copa del Rey ( 1978–79), the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup ( 1979–80) and the UEFA Super Cup (1980). Ricardo Penella Arias (born 25 February 1957) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a sweeper. He appeared in 501 competitive games for Valencia, winning three major titles including the 1980 Cup Winners' Cup. In La Liga, he played 377 matches and scored twice. Mario Kempes
Mario Alberto Kempes Chiodi (; born 15 July 1954) is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as a striker or attacking midfielder. A prolific goalscorer, he finished as La Liga's top goalscorer twice with Valencia and amassed 116 goals in 184 league games for the club.
