1978 Dallas Cowboys Season
The 1978 Dallas Cowboys season was their 19th in the National Football League (NFL). For the third consecutive season, the Cowboys finished in first place in the NFC East. The Cowboys scored 384 points, which ranked first in the league, while the defense only gave up 208 points, 3rd best in the league. Twice, the Cowboys appeared on ''Monday Night Football''. The Cowboys became the first franchise to appear in five Super Bowls. NFC East
The National Football Conference – Eastern Division or NFC East is one of the four Division (sport), divisions of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. Harold Randolph
James Harold Randolph (born January 28, 1956) is a former American football linebacker in the United States Football League for the Washington Federals. He also was a member of the Toronto Argonauts and Montreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League. He played college football at East Carolina University. Early years Randolph entered Third Street School in Greenville, NC in 1964 among the first African-American students at the previously all white elementary school. Alois Sterling Blackwell (born November 12, 1954) is a former American football running back in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs. He played college football at the University of Houston. Early years Blackwell attended Cuero High School. As a sophomore, he contributed to the team making its first state final appearance. He accepted a football scholarship from the University of Houston. Dave Hudgens (born February 27, 1955) is a former American football defensive tackle who was a member of the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League . He played college football at the University of Oklahoma. Early years Hudgens attended Will Rogers High School before moving on to the University of Oklahoma. As a sophomore, he found initial success as an individual Big Eight Conference champion in the shot put and discus throw.
