1977 French Polynesian Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in French Polynesia on 29 May 1977 for the Assembly of French Polynesia, Territorial Assembly. Autonomist parties won a majority, with the United Front of Francis Sanford winning 13 seats and Sanford allies a further five. Louis Palmer (politician), Louis Palmer died in February 1973 and was replaced by Lucien Ratinassamy. Pouvanaa a Oopa resigned during the term of the Territorial Assembly and was replaced by Yannick Amaru. André Teikitutoua died shortly before the 1977 French Polynesian legislative election, 1977 elections and was not replaced.
