The 1975 World Rowing Championships was the fifth World Rowing Championships. It was held from 21 to 30 August at Holme Pierrepont National Watersports Centre in Nottingham, England. Holme Pierrepont National Watersports Centre
Holme Pierrepont Country Park, home of The National Water Sports Centre is located in the hamlet of Holme Pierrepont near Nottingham, England and on the River Trent. It is used for many different types of sports and has recently received significant investment which has enabled a major refurbishment of existing facilities as well as introduction of new facilities. Run by Serco on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council, it was previously one of five National Sports Centres, and is a unique sporting venue set in the centre of the country. History The centre was constructed during 1970 and 1971 on a former gravel works and required the excavation of one and a half million Cubic yard, cubic yards of material. Christof Kreuziger
Christof Kreuziger (born 29 November 1948) is a German rower. He won gold medals for East Germany at the 1973 European Rowing Championships and the 1974 World Rowing Championships in double scull, and at the 1975 World Rowing Championships in quad scull. Rowing career Kreuziger was born in 1948. He appears in East German media reports about rowing from 1969 onwards, starting for TSC Berlin which later that year became SC Berlin-Grünau. In 1970, he teamed up with fellow club member Götz Draeger in the double scull and they came third in the East German championships. Kreuziger also competed in the single scull in 1970 and won an international regatta on Lake Ossiach near Villach in Austria. At the 1971 East German national championships, Kreuziger competed in the single scull and was beaten by Draeger for second place. Jörg Landvoigt
Jörg Landvoigt (born 23 March 1951) is a retired German rower Jörg Landvoigt and his twin brother Bernd were born in Brandenburg an der Havel, then in the German Democratic Republic. Their father was a boatman: their mother worked as a secretary. Jörg Landvoigt had his best achievements in the coxless pairs, rowing with his twin. Between 1974 and 1980 they won all but one of the 180 races in which they competed, including four world championships and two Olympics; they only lost once, to other twins, Yuri and Nikolay Pimenov. The Landvoigt brothers also won a bronze medal in the eights at the 1972 Olympics and a European title in coxless fours in 1973. Jörg is left-handed, whereas Bernd is right-handed. After retiring from competitions Jörg worked as a rowing coach at his club SG Dynamo Potsdam and later with the junior national team. Today he works for the Regional Sports Federation of Brandenburg.
