1975 BC Lions Season
The 1975 CFL season, 1975 BC Lions finished in fifth place in the Western Conference with a 6–10 record and failed to make the playoffs. With Don Moorhead injured, Peter Liske took most of the snaps during the season for the Lions. The club had a terrible start to the season going 1–5 in their first six games and on August 29 the Board of Directors finally fired both General Manager Jackie Parker and Head Coach Eagle Keys. Bob Ackles was promoted to General Manager and Ackles elevated Cal Murphy to Head Coach. The club went 5-5 in the remaining part of the season, however, they did not get out of last place in the Western Conference. Despite the poor season by the club, three Lions made the CFL all-star team: Centre Al Wilson (Canadian football), Al Wilson, Defensive End Bill Baker (Canadian football), Bill Baker and linebacker Larry Cameron. Canadian Football League West Division
The West Division is one of the two regional divisions of the Canadian Football League (CFL), its counterpart being the East Division (CFL), East Division. Although the CFL was not founded until 1958, the West Division and its clubs are descended from earlier leagues. The five teams in the West Division are the BC Lions, Calgary Stampeders, Edmonton Elks, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. There were also two now-defunct teams from the Canadian Football League in the United States, mid 1990s United States expansion of the CFL who played in the West Division. Additionally, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers have played three separate stints in the East Division, during seasons in which the divisions needed to be rebalanced due league expansion, contraction, or reorganization.
