1974–75 Kentucky Wildcats Men's Basketball Team
The 1974–75 Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball team represented the University of Kentucky and was the 1975 NCAA runner-up. The head coach was Joe B. Hall. The team was a member of the Southeast Conference and played their home games at Rupp Arena. Regular season On December 7, 1974, Indiana and Kentucky met in the regular season in Bloomington with a 98-74 Indiana win. Near the end of the game, Indiana coach Bob Knight went to the Kentucky bench where the official was standing to complain about a call. Before he left, Knight hit Kentucky coach Joe B. Hall in the back of the head. UK's assistant coach Leonard Hamilton, a former FBI agent who was about 6 feet 5 inches, had to be restrained by Hall from hitting Knight. Hall later said, "It publicly humiliated me." Knight said the slap to the head was something he has done, "affectionately" to his own players for years. The 1974–75 Syracuse Orangemen basketball team represented Syracuse University in the 1974–75 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Head coach was Roy Danforth, serving for his 7th year. Michael David Flynn (born July 31, 1953) is an American former professional basketball player. He played as a guard. Flynn was born in Casablanca, Morocco but grew up in Jeffersonville, Indiana, USA. Robert "Bob" Guyette (born August 29, 1953 in Ottawa, Illinois) is a former American professional basketball player, who played five seasons in the Spanish League. At a height of 6' 9", he played at the power forward position. After his playing days, he became an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. College career Guyette played for three varsity seasons with the Kentucky Wildcats, where he averaged 9.0 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. He also played on the junior varsity team as a freshman, since at the time, freshmen weren't eligible to play on the varsity squad. In 1975, he played in the NCAA Final against the UCLA Bruins, in which they lost 92–85. Guyette had 16 points and 7 rebounds in that game.
