Idool 2003
Idool 2003 was the first season of the Belgian version of the Idol series. It was won by Peter Evrard, and followed by Idool 2004. The series was officially launched on 28 September 2002 by Belgian television network VTM. The hosts of the show are Koen & Kris Wauters of the group Clouseau. The jury members were Jean Blaute, Nina De Man, Jan Leyers & Bart Brusseleers. About Auditions were held across Flanders in Antwerp, Ghent & Brussels where 100 candidates were chosen to advance to the theatre rounds in Brussels where they were cut to 50 contestants (five groups of ten) to perform live in a piano round semi final, two contestants from each semi final advanced to the liveshows with a studio audience. On 9 May 2003 Peter Evrard from Beerse won with runner up Natalia Druyts placing second. Peter Evrard
Peter Evrard (born 19 October 1974) is the winner of the first season of ''Idool 2003'', the Belgian version of ''Pop Idol''. Evrard defied the traditional rules of the Idols series by singing rock music instead of the expected pop. Regardless, he managed to win the series, and in 2003 he placed third overall in the World Idol contest. Evrard lives and works in Beerse, Belgium. He is married and has 2 sons and a daughter. He is the only one of the original 11 World Idols to lose their mother early in life. In 2005, Peter began recording music again with his band Toner on the CD Radio Honolulu. Residence Brusilia is a curved building in the Schaerbeek district of Brussels, Belgium, next to Josaphat Park. It was designed by the Belgian architect Jacques Cuisinier and built from 1970 to 1974. At 35 stories and tall, it remained the tallest all-residential building in Belgium until the tall UP-site Tower was completed in Brussels in 2014. The upper floors offer a wide view over Brussels and beyond (as far north as Antwerp and Doel Nuclear Power Station on a clear day). Originally the building was supposed to be double the width. The Diocese of Namur is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Catholic Church in Belgium. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Mechelen-Brussels. Robert-Joseph Mathen
Robert-Joseph Mathen (1916–1997) was the 28th Bishop of Namur in Belgium. Mathen was born in Aubange on 30 December 1916, and was educated at Collège Saint-Joseph de Virton. He entered the seminary and was ordained to the priesthood on 25 August 1940, after which he studied Theology at the Catholic University of Leuven. In 1960 he was appointed dean of Arlon, and on 24 June 1974 he became bishop of Namur. He had already been consecrated as his predecessor's coadjutor bishop on 3 May the same year.
