1974 Senior League World Series
The 1974 Senior League World Series took place from August 12–17 in Gary, Indiana, United States. Pingtung, Taiwan defeated Charlotte, North Carolina in the championship game. ''The Orange County Register'' is a paid daily newspaper published in California. The ''Register'', published in Orange County, California, is owned by the private equity firm Alden Global Capital via its Digital Fiest/Media News subsidiaries. Freedom Communications owned the newspaper from 1935 to 2016. History The ''Register'' was founded by a consortium as the ''Santa Ana Daily Register'' in 1905. It was sold to J. P. The Senior League World Series Latin America Region is one of six International regions that currently sends teams to the World Series in Easley, South Carolina. The region's participation in the SLWS dates back to 1963. Prior to 1974, the champions of Mexico and Puerto Rico received a berth into the SLWS. In 1974 the two regions merged to form the original Latin America Region. In 2017 the region was split in two, creating a new region of the same name, and the Caribbean Region. The Senior League World Series – Asia-Pacific Region (formerly the Far East Region) is one of six international regions that currently send teams to the World Series in Easley, South Carolina. The region's participation in the Senior League World Series (SLWS) dates back to 1972. It has produced the most championships (17) of any region, all won by Taiwan.
