1973 FIBA Korać Cup
The 1973 FIBA Korać Cup was the second edition of FIBA's competition, running from 9 January to 27 March 1973. It was contested by 12 teams, four more than in the 1972 FIBA Korać Cup, previous edition. Pallacanestro Cantù, Birra Forst Cantù defeated R.C. Mechelen, Maes Pils in the final to become the competition's first Italy, Italian champion. FIBA Korać Cup
The FIBA Korać Cup was an annual basketball club competition held by FIBA between the 1971–72 and 2001–02 seasons. It was the third-tier level club competition in European basketball, after the FIBA European Champions' Cup (later renamed the EuroLeague) and the FIBA Cup Winners' Cup (later renamed the FIBA Saporta Cup). The last Korać Cup season was held during the 2001–02 season. History The Korać Cup was named after the legendary Yugoslav player Radivoj Korać, killed in 1969 in a car accident near Sarajevo. Picadero Jockey Club, also known until 1970 as Picadero Damm for sponsorship reasons, was a Spanish multisports club from Barcelona founded in 1951. History Overall the club enjoyed its golden era during the 1960s. MTV Wolfenbüttel was a basketball club based in Wolfenbüttel, Germany. The basketball club established in 1956 within the multi-sports club MTV Wolfenbüttel (''Männerturnverein Wolfenbüttel'' / in English: ''Men's gymnastics club Wolfenbüttel'').
