1973 Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship
The 1973 Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship was the 64th staging of the Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1909. The draw for the opening round fixtures took place at the Cork Convention on 28 January 1973. On 22 July 1973, Cloughduv won the championship following a 2-09 to 2-05 defeat of Blackrock in the final at Páirc Uí Chonaill. This was their third championship title overall and their first title since 1941. Cloughduv's Connie Kelly Cornelius Kelly (1949 – 5 April 1985) was an Irish hurler and Gaelic footballer. Sarsfields GAA is a hurling club is based in the Riverstown and Glanmire area of County Cork. The club plays in the Imokilly division of Cork GAA. Midleton Hurling and Football Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the town of Midleton in County Cork, Ireland. The club plays in the Imokilly division of Cork GAA. History The concept of a Gaelic Athletic Association was first mooted in 1883 when a sub-committee of the Irish Republican Brotherhood was formed with the ideal of creating a National Athletic body. Youghal GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the town of Youghal, in County Cork, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. Bandon GAA is a Gaelic football and Hurling club based in Bandon in County Cork, Republic of Ireland. The club is affiliated with Carbery division of Cork. In 2007, Bandon won the West Cork Junior A Football Championship, beating Muintir Bhaire in the final. The club's hurling team meanwhile were runners-up in the Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship. Glen Rovers GAA
Glen Rovers is a Cork (city), Cork-based Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Blackpool, Cork, Ireland. The club was founded in 1916 and is primarily concerned with the game of hurling. They were Cork senior hurling champions in 2015 and 2016, having won their first title in 26 years in 2015. They retained the championship in 2016, when they beat Erin's Own in the final. Ballinhassig is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the village of Ballinhassig in County Cork, Republic of Ireland. The club was founded in 1886, and now plays Hurling at Premier Intermediate level, having won the Cork Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship in 2005, and the Cork Junior Hurling Championship in 2002. Ballincollig GAA is a Gaelic football and hurling club based in the town of Ballincollig, County Cork, Ireland. The club is affiliated with the Cork GAA board and plays in the Muskerry divisional competitions. In 2009, the club will participate in the Cork Senior Football Championship and the Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship. Ballincollig were in this initial 21, however it was not until 1887 that the first record of entry into the Championship from a team from Carrigrohane, with a late submission.
