1971–72 Rheinlandliga
The 1971–72 Rheinlandliga was the 20th season of the highest amateur class of the Rhineland Football Association under the name of 1. Amateurliga Rheinland. It was a predecessor of today's Rheinlandliga. Results Sportfreunde Eisbachtal became Rheinland Champion. Sportfreunde Eisbachtal
Eisbachtaler Sportfreunde is a German association football club based in Nentershausen, Rhineland-Palatinate. __TOC__ History Eisbachtaler Sportfreunde were formed in 1966 as a merger of local teams SC Großholbach, TuS Girod-Kleinholbach, VfR Nomborn, TuS Heilberscheid and TuS Nentershausen. The oldest of these clubs was founded in 1919, which is recognized as the official founding year. Eisbachtal immediately began their rise through the league system and eventually reached the Regionalliga Südwest in 1972, then the second-highest tier in German football. Due to the introduction of the 2. Bundesliga in 1974, the club was relegated to the Amateurklasse. In 1978, Sportfreunde were founding members of the newly introduced Oberliga Südwest, and stayed in this league until their relegation in 1986. The team has its origins as a football department established within the gymnastics club ''Betzdorfer Turnverein'' on 6 September 1906. Germania ( ; ), also called Magna Germania (English: ''Great Germania''), Germania Libera (English: ''Free Germania''), or Germanic Barbaricum to distinguish it from the Roman province of the same name, was a large historical region in north-central Europe during the Roman era, which was associated by Roman authors with the Germanic peoples. FV Engers 07 is a German association football club based in the city of Engers, Rhineland-Palatinate. History The club was founded in 1907 as FC Viktoria Engers on 10 July 1907 and later that same year was joined by FC Roland Engers. This combined club then itself joined the gymnastics club Turnverein 1879 Engers in 1910. The footballers resumed their independence as Fußballverein Engers in 1916. They won their first honours in 1913 as champions of the local C division Bezirk Koblenz. In 1919, FV captured the B division title and then won promotion to top flight regional competition in 1923.
