1971–72 QMJHL Season
The 1971–72 QMJHL season was the third season in the history of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Ten teams played 62 games each in the schedule. The Cornwall Royals finished first place in the regular season, and won the President's Cup, defeating the Quebec Remparts in the finals. The Royals won the 1972 Memorial Cup, representing the QMJHL at the first Memorial Cup round-robin tournament. Season (sports)
In an organized sports league, a typical season is the portion of one year in which regulated games of the sport are in session: for example, in Major League Baseball the season lasts approximately from the last week of March to the last week of September. Saint-Jérôme Alouettes
The Saint-Jérôme Alouettes were a junior ice hockey team that played in Saint-Jérôme, Quebec, Canada. The team originated during the late 1950s in the Quebec Junior Hockey League, and played there until 1969. After which, the Alouettes joined the higher calibre Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, and played for three seasons, from 1969 to 1972. Rychard Campeau
Rychard Campeau (born April 9, 1952) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League in the fourth round, 53rd overall, of the 1972 NHL Entry Draft; however, he never played in that league. He played 82 regular-season games and four playoff games in the World Hockey Association with the Philadelphia Blazers and the Vancouver Blazers in the 1972–73 and 1973–74 seasons. Guy Provost, (May 19, 1925 – February 10, 2004) was a French Canadian actor. Richard Brodeur
Richard "King Richard", "Kermit" Brodeur (born September 15, 1952), is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. Brodeur was born in Longueuil, Quebec and grew up in Montreal, Quebec. Playing career Brodeur was selected in the 1972 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Islanders, but chose instead to play in the World Hockey Association with the Quebec Nordiques, for whom he played for seven seasons. The 1975–76 season was his best; he played 69 games and won 44 of them. In 1976–77, he helped his team win the Avco World Trophy. When the WHA folded following the 1978–79 season, he was protected as one of the Nordiques' priority selections, then was traded to the Islanders for Göran Högosta. However, he only played two games for them as he was the third goalie behind Billy Smith and Chico Resch, and was traded to the Vancouver Canucks in 1980.
