1968–69 FC Basel Season
The 1968–69 season was Fussball Club Basel 1893's 75th season in their existence. It was their 23rd consecutive season in the top flight of Swiss football after their promotion the season 1945–46. Harry Thommen was the club's chairman of the board for the third consecutive season. Basel played their home games in the St. Jakob Stadium. Overview Pre-season During this season Helmut Benthaus was the club's player-manager for the fourth consecutive season. Paul Fischli joined the team coming from Young Fellows Zürich. Jürgen Sundermann signed in from Servette and Walter Balmer joined from Thun. In the other direction Hanspeter Stocker left the club after eight years and moved to Baden for his last season before retiring from his active football career. FC Basel
Fussball Club Basel 1893, widely known as FC Basel, FCB, or just Basel, is a Swiss football club based in Basel, in the Canton of Basel-Stadt. Formed in 1893, the club has been Swiss national champions 20 times, Swiss Cup winners 13 times, and Swiss League Cup winners once. Jürgen Sundermann
Hans-Jürgen Sundermann (25 January 1940 – 4 October 2022) was a German football manager and player who played as a midfielder. Playing career Sundermann played his youth football with local club 1. FC Mülheim. In 1958 he signed for Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, where he played for four years. He then moved on to Viktoria Köln. After two years with them he signed for Bundesliga side Hertha BSC and appeared in 29 league matches for them. Due to financial irregularities the club was relegated after that season. 1n 1965/66 Hertha won the Regionalliga Berlin but failed in the promotion play-off to the Bundesliga. In 1966 Sundermann moved to Switzerland and signed for Servette, where he stayed for two seasons. Sundermann joined FC Basel's first team for their 1968–69 season under head coach Helmut Benthaus. FC Lugano is a Swiss football club based in Lugano. The club was refounded as AC Lugano in 2004 as a result of relegation and the financial situation of FC Lugano, which was founded in 1908. Aldo Moscatelli
Aldo Moscatelli (2 November 1939 – 15 April 2015) was a Swiss footballer who played for Luzern, Basel, St. Gallen and Brühl St. Gallen during the 1960s and early 70s. He played mainly in the position of striker, but also very often as midfielder. Football career Moscatelli played his youth football by local club FC Luzern and advanced to their first team in the summer of 1960. He made his Nationalliga A debut for Luzern during the 1960–61 season. In that season he played 17 domestic league matches, scoring one goal as Luzern ended the season in eighth position in the league table. In the following two Seasons Moscatelli was troubled by injuries and so did not come to many league appearances, but in the following he showed his goal scoring qualities, scoring eight times in 22 outings. The competition was discontinued after the 2008 tournament. FC Baden
FC Baden is a Swiss football club based in Baden, Canton Aargau, which is a short distance from Zürich. It was founded in 1897. FC Baden has a total of 22 different teams at age levels, including five women's teams. They play in the Swiss Promotion League, the third tier of Swiss football.
