''1968'' is a 2018 historical-sports docudrama film directed by Tassos Boulmetis. Plot April 4th, 1968. The Panathenaic Stadium (then Olympic Stadium of Athens) is abuzz, with thousands of people gathered and millions listening through their radios. Kurtuluş is a neighbourhood of the Şişli district of Istanbul that was originally called ''Tatavla,'' meaning 'stables' in Greek ( el, Ταταύλα). The modern Turkish name means "liberation", "salvation", "independence" or "deliverance". On 13 April 1929, six years after the Republic of Turkey was founded, a fire swept through the neighbourhood and largely destroyed it, with 207 houses going up in flames. The name was changed to Kurtuluş to mark the rebuilding of the area. Once a predominantly Greek Orthodox neighbourhood, its population today mostly consists of Turks who moved there after the Republic of Turkey was founded in 1923. Nikolaos "Nikos" Milas ( el, Νικόλαος "Νίκος" Μήλας; 9 July 1928 – 22 July 2019) was a Greek basketball player and coach. He was born in Athens. Playing career Club career Milas was a skilled technical player, with good dribbling and shooting ability. He played with Panathinaikos in his club career. He won three Greek League championships (1949–50, 1950–51, 1953–54). Greece national team Milas played on the Greece men's national basketball team in 8 games at the EuroBasket 1949 in Egypt (where they won a bronze medal), and at the EuroBasket 1951.
