1965–66 Honduran Liga Nacional
The 1965–66 Honduran Liga Nacional season was the inaugural edition of the Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional de Honduras, Honduran Liga Nacional. The season ran from 18 July 1965 to 23 January 1966. The format of the tournament consisted of a double Round-robin tournament, round-robin schedule. Platense F.C. won the title after defeating Real C.D. España, España 2–0 in the last round at El Progreso. Liga Nacional De Fútbol Profesional De Honduras
Liga Betcris de Honduras (''Honduran National Professional Football League'') is the highest division of football in Honduras. The league season is divided into Opening (autumn) and Closing (spring). One team is relegated to the Liga de Ascenso (the team with fewest points in Opening and Closing) and one team is promoted from Liga de Ascenso. The top four clubs participate in play-offs to decide the champion. The winners of the Opening and Closing competitions participate in the CONCACAF Champions League. Kiro Brooks
Kiro was a colonial post in what is now the Central Equatoria province of South Sudan on the west side of the Bahr al Jebel or White Nile river. It was in part of the Lado enclave. In 1900 there were said to be 1,500 troops from the Congo Free State divided among the three Lado enclave Nile stations of Kiro, Lado and Redjaf. After the final defeat of the Khalifa by the British under General Herbert Kitchener in 1898, the Nile up to the Uganda border became part of the Anglo-Egyptian Sudan. An expedition upriver from Ondurman arrived in December 1900. A post was established at Kiro, but later was transferred to Mongalla in April 1901 since Kiro was claimed to be in Belgian territory. Edward Fothergill visited the Sudan around this time, basing himself at Mongalla, which lay between Lado to the south and Kiro to the north, but on the east shore of the river.
