Hans Junkermann
Hennes "Hans" Junkermann (6 May 1934 – 11 April 2022) was a German professional racing cyclist who won 35 road races in 18 seasons from 1956 to 1973. He won the German National Road Race in 1959, 1960, and 1961. Biography Junkermann was born in St. Tönis, near Krefeld, Rhine Province. He excelled in mountainous stage races and hard one-day events. He won nine Six Day races and the European Madison championship in 1965. He rode the Tour de France eight times. Junkermann showed class as an amateur and was approached twice in 1954 to defect to the GDR and become a paid amateur, but he wanted to stay in West Germany and be a professional. He turned professional in 1955 season for the small Bauer team. In May 1957 he won Züri-Metzgete, followed by fourth in the Tour de Suisse, the start of his excellent record in the Swiss tour, a hilly stage race. Jan Hugens
Johannes Joseph "Jan" Hugens (22 March 1939 – 12 March 2011) was a Dutch road cyclist who was active between 1958 and 1968. He won individual stages of the Olympia's Tour in 1958 and 1959 and finished second overall in the Tour of Yugoslavia in 1958. Rolf Graf (19 August 1932 - 18 January 2019) was a Swiss professional road bicycle racer. Rolf Graf was a protégé of the Swiss cyclist Ferdinand Kübler. Juan Campillo
Juan Campillo GarcÃa (16 August 1930 – 28 February 1964) was a professional road bicycle racer between 1953 and 1963. Career Campillo competed in five Vuelta a Españas and four Tour de Frances, with his best result being fifth overall in the 1960 Vuelta a España. Retirement and death Campillo retired from racing at the end of the 1963 season and used his savings to buy a restaurant in Andorra. On 28 February 1964, the day before its opening, he was crushed by a truck and died aged 33, leaving his six-year-old son an orphan after his mother died giving birth to him. Gilbert Desmet (born 2 February 1931 in Roeselare), nicknamed ''Smetje van Lichtervelde'', is a former Belgian cyclist who was professional from 1952 to 1967. In the 1956 Tour de France, he wore the yellow jersey for 2 days, and in the 1963 Tour de France he wore it for 9 days. Desmet won 101 professional races, including Paris–Tours, La Flèche Wallonne and Four Days of Dunkirk. His best result in the Tour de France was his 4th place in 1962.
