The 1961 All England Championships was a badminton tournament held at Wembley, London, England, from 14 to 17 March 1961. In 1960 Judy Devlin married and returned to the championships as Judy Hashman, her sister Sue Devlin also married and became Sue Peard and decided to represent Ireland, the native country of her father and former men's champion Frank Devlin. Charoen Wattanasin () (born 1937) is a former badminton player from Thailand who won international championships in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Career Between 1958 and 1962 Wattanasin captured the open men's singles titles of Malaya, Ireland, Scotland, Norway, and France. He also shared the open men's doubles titles of Malaya, Scotland, the Netherlands, and the USA. Knud Aage Nielsen (born 1937) is a retired male badminton player from Denmark. Career With a singles game that featured consistency and excellent mobility, Nielsen played at a high international level from the late 1950s through the mid-1960s. The Oon brothers, Oon Chong Teik (温忠德), Oon Chong Jin (温忠哲) and Oon Chong Hau (温忠豪), were badminton playing siblings from Malaysia, each of whom won a variety of international titles while studying toward a medical degree in England.
