The 1960 Campeonato Ecuatoriano de Fútbol ( en, Ecuadorian Football Championship) was the 2nd national championship for football teams in Ecuador. The tournament returned after a two-year hiatus using with the same format, but expanded the field of teams from four to eight. The Liga Pro Betcris, simply known as the Liga Pro, or the Serie A, is a professional football league in Ecuador. At the top of the Ecuadorian football league system, it is the country's premier football competition. Contested by sixteen clubs, it operates a system of promotion and relegation with the Serie B, the lower level of the Primera Categoría. Club Deportivo Everest
Club Deportivo Everest is an Ecuadorian football team based in Guayaquil. They currently play in the third-level Segunda Categoría, but have spent ten seasons in the top-flight Serie A. Everest is one of the nine teams in the country to win a national championship. Their only conquest came in 1962. Their trophy haul also includes one Campeonato Professional de Guayaquil title in 1960. Over the years, they have bounced over the years between the Serie A and Serie B before finally being relegated to the Segunda Categoria in 1983.
