Woo Jang-choon
Woo Jang-choon (April 8, 1898 – August 10, 1959) was a Koreans in Japan, Korean-Japanese agricultural scientist and botanist, famous for his discoveries in the genetics and plant breeding, breeding of plants. Woo was born and raised in Japan, overcoming poverty and discrimination in Imperial Japan to become a prominent researcher and teacher. When Korea was Division of Korea, freed of Korea under Japanese rule, Japanese rule in 1945, Woo left his mother, wife, and children in Japan and traveled to Korea to lead the country's efforts in botany and agriculture.. There is a memorial museum in the port city of Busan where he lived and worked in Korea, honoring his life and accomplishments. Hana Financial Group Inc. () is a financial holding company headquartered in Seoul, South Korea. History Hana Financial Group was established as Hana Bank's transition to a holding company. In 2005, Hana Bank was delisted and incorporated into Hana Financial Group as a subsidiary. In 2005, Hana Financial Group acquired Daehan Investment and Securities, then Korea's second-largest asset management company. In 2012, Hana Financial Group acquired a 51.02 percent stake in Korea Exchange Bank (KEB) from Lone Star Funds for KRW 2.02 trillion. Due to opposition from the KEB labor union, the merger between KEB and Hana Bank was delayed until 2015, and the two banks operated independently under the Hana Financial Group umbrella.
