1958–59 Liga Alef
The 1958–59 Liga Alef season saw Bnei Yehuda win the title and promotion to Liga Leumit. Final table Relegation play-offs A promotion-relegation play-off between the 11th and 12th placed clubs in Liga Alef, Maccabi Sha'arayim and Hapoel Afula, and the second placed clubs of the regional divisions of Liga Bet, Hapoel Netanya and Hapoel Be'er Sheva. Each club played the other three once. Shortly after the Relegation play-offs, as Hapoel Netanya appealed against the fielding of Hapoel Afula player Zvi Singel, and the three matches which were played by Hapoel Afula were given as a walkover win to the opposition, as the disciplinary tribunal determined that Singel was registered with Hapoel Beit HaShita and was not properly transferred to Hapoel Afula. Liga Alef
Liga Alef ( he, ליגה א', , League A) is the third tier of the Israeli football league system. It is divided into two regional divisions, north and south. History League football began in Israel in 1949–50, a year after the Israeli Declaration of Independence. However, the financial and security crises gripping the young nation caused the 1950–51 season to be abandoned before it had started. When football resumed in 1951–52, the new top division went by the name of Liga Alef. The 1952–53 season was also not played, and Liga Alef resumed in 1953–54. In the 1955–56 season, Liga Leumit came into existence as the new top division, with Liga Alef becoming the second division. In the summer of 1976, restructuring saw the creation of Liga Artzit as a new second tier, and the second demotion of Liga Alef, as it became the third division. Hapoel ( he, הפועל, lit. ''the worker'') is an Israeli Jewish sports association established in 1926 by the Histadrut Labor Federation. Liga Bet ( he, ליגה ב', lit. ''League B'') is the fourth tier of the Israeli football league system. It is divided into four regional divisions. Reuven Tal ( he, ראובן טל) was an Israeli footballer and sportsperson. He is best known for his years at Hapoel Balfouria where he was the top scorer for the clubs during the club's two seasons in the top division. HaMakhtesh Stadium
The HaMakhtesh Stadium ( he, אצטדיון המכתש, ''Etztadion HaMakhtesh'') was a stadium in the Tel Aviv District city of Givatayim, Israel, and the home of Hapoel Ramat Gan. The name "''HaMakhtesh''" translates into English as "The Crater". The stadium was originally opened in 1927 and nowadays has an all-seated capacity of 5,500. There were only two stands; one behind a goal and the other alongside the pitch. Menachem Ashkenazi ( he, מנחם אשכנזי) (6 August 1934 – 13 November 2000) was an Israeli international football referee, born in Bulgaria, active during the 1960s and 1970s. He was the first Asian referee who officiated in a World Cup. Biography Born in 1934 in a Jewish Sephardic family in Bulgaria, in 1936 he emigrated with his parents to Mandatory Palestine. Since his childhood he played soccer and distinguished himself at 16 as a player in the youth football team of the club Hapoel Petah Tikva. But following a severe fracture of his leg, he had to stop his career as a football player.
