1958 Copa Del Generalísimo Final
The Copa del Generalísimo 1958 Final was the 56th final of the Copa del Rey, King's Cup. The final was played at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Estadio Chamartín in Madrid, on 29 June 1958, being won by Atlético de Bilbao, who beat Real Madrid 2–0. Although both clubs remained among the regulars competing for trophies, they did not meet in another final again until the 2022 Supercopa de España Final, 2021–22 Supercopa de España, almost 64 years later. Rafael Lesmes Bobed (9 November 1926 – 8 October 2012) was a Spanish footballer who played as a defender. Club career Lesmes was born in Ceuta. Over 12 La Liga seasons, he played for Real Valladolid (two spells) and Real Madrid, appearing in 263 games in the competition. He began his career with local Atlético Tetuán, and retired in 1962 at the age of 35. With Real Madrid, Lesmes was part of the team that won five consecutive European Cups. International career Lesmes was selected for Spain's 1950 FIFA World Cup squad as an uncapped member. He would have to wait nearly five years to make his debut, however, appearing in a 1–2 friendly loss to France on 17 March 1955, in Madrid. José Emilio Santamaría Iglesias (born 31 July 1929) is a retired football central defender and manager. He spent his 18-year career with Nacional and Real Madrid, winning a combined 17 titles including four European Cups with the latter club.
