Handbollsligan
Handbollsligan ''(literally, "The Handball league")'' is the highest league in the league system of Swedish handball, and comprises the top 14 Swedish handball teams. The first season began in 1931–32. The season ends with a playoff. Structure The season starts in September with a regular season comprising 14 teams meeting each other twice. A total of 26 rounds. The eight best teams after the regular season qualifies for the play-off. The 14th team is relegated, and the 11th, 12th and 13th team plays matches against the second, third and fourth from Allsvenskan to qualify for next season's Handbollsligan. The season ends with the finals in the beginning of May and the winning team qualifies directly to EHF European League and the losing team qualifies for the EHF European Cup. Ystads IF
Ystads IF is a handball club from Ystad, Sweden. They play in Handbollsligan. They won the Swedish Championship in 1976, 1992 and 2022. History Ystads IF was founded in 1908 and took up handball on the programme in 1929. In 1933–34, the club won an unofficial six-team league consisting of teams from the cities of Ystad and Kristianstad. In the same season, they made their debut in Svenska mästerskapet (SM), a tournament held to determine the Swedish Champions. They were eliminated by Flottans IF Karlskrona in their first match. Ystads IF played in the highest division, at the time known as Allsvenskan, for the first time in 1940–41, but were relegated after one season. They were promoted again in 1943 and in the same season reached the semi-finals of SM, where they were defeated by Västerås HF. In 1945–46, Ystads IF finished second in the league. H 43 Lund
H43 Lund is a handball team from Sweden. The club played in the Elitserien but after bankruptcy in 2014 they no longer exist. The youth club under the same name is a new club founded in 2015 under same short name (but not same full name) The club was founded in 1943 in a school class in Lund. Their teacher Y. Wallmer helped the boys found the club at a local café. 13 years later the club was playing in Sweden's highest division. H43 Lund played in "allsvenskan" for 14 years 1956-1970 before they were relegated to the second division. After nine years they were back in the top division but now only for seven years. In 2000 H43 Lund was back in "Elitserien" and stayed there for 12 years. During 2012/13 H43 played one year in division 2 but then came back. Economic bankruptcy in 2014 ended the history of the club. IFK Karlskrona
IFK Karlskrona are a Swedish handball club based in Karlskrona. The club was founded in 1921. They won Allsvenskan in 1944–1945. They reached the final of the Swedish championship, at the time played as a straight knockout tournament, in 1940, 1944 and 1945, but were beaten each time by Majorna. They won Allsvenskan again in 1948–49, but were eliminated in the first round of the Swedish championship by Näsby IF. In 1952, the Swedish championship tournament was discontinued and the Swedish champions title was awarded to the winners of Allsvenskan. The club finished second in Allsvenskan in 1955–56; their fourth Swedish championship silver. They were relegated from Allsvenkan in 1961 and did not return until 1981. Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna Kristianstad (), or IFK Kristianstad, is a Swedish handball club based in Kristianstad. They play in Handbollsligan, the top level of Swedish men's handball. The club was founded in 1899 as a multi-sport club. The handball team made its debut in 1925 and has been the only section of the club since 2000. Majornas IK is a Swedish sport club from Gothenburg founded in 1916. The club is most famous for its handball team, who have been Swedish champions 7 times (1935, 1940, 1942, 1943, 1944, 1945 and 1946). Until 1964 they had played all seasons but one in the top flight, but have not played there since. They currently play in Division 4, the 6th level. When the club started, it was mainly concentrated on association football, but the football section was discontinued in 2006 because of a lack of players. The Swedish men's handball champions (Swedish: ''Svenska mästare i handboll för herrar'') have been determined by three different competitions. From 1931–32 until 1951–52, the title was decided by a straight knockout tournament known as ''Svenska mästerskapet'' ("the Swedish Championship"). After 1934–35, it was played parallel to the highest league, Allsvenskan. The tournament was contested by the winners of the ''Distriktsmästerskap'' ("Provincial Championships") until 1945–46. After that it was contested by all teams from the top division, all Provincial Champions and invited teams from lower leagues. From 1952–53 until 1966–67, the title of Swedish Champions was awarded to the winners of Allsvenskan.
