1955 All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship
The 1955 All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship was the high point of the 1955 season in Camogie. The championship was won by Dublin GAA#Camogie, Dublin who defeated Cork GAA#Camogie, Cork by an eight-point margin in the final. The match was played at Croke Park and attracted an attendance of 4,192. Championship Mayo beat Galway by a remarkable 6–1 to nil in the Connacht final. They were beaten heavily by Dublin for whom Úna O'Connor (camogie), Una O'Connor scored five goals and Sophie Brack three in the semi-final. A great display by Sheila Cahill in the Cork goal helped her county through the other semi-final. Final The final was scheduled for August 21 alongside the All Ireland football semi-final but the pitch was so badly cut up by the Dublin v Mayo football semi-final and a thunderstorm caused its cancellation for a week. He had 43 caps for Ireland national rugby union team, Ireland, from 1982 to 1991, scoring 6 tries, 40 conversions, 62 penalties and 6 drop goals, in an aggregate of 308 points. Eileen Duffy
Eileen Duffy-O'Mahoney was an Irish sportsperson who played senior camogie with Dublin from 1949 until 1957. Background Eileen Duffy was born in Dublin. She showed great skill at the game of camogie in her youth and quickly joined her local Celtic camogie club. It was with this club that Duffy first tasted success, and she later won five Dublin county camogie titles. She quickly came to the attention of the Dublin senior camogie selectors and made her senior inter-county debut in 1949. Career It was a golden era for Dublin camogie, and Duffy won seven All-Ireland medals in-a-row, beginning in her debut year. Her skills were particularly noted in 1951 as she was named as Sports Star of the Year, an honour she won again in 1957. Cork Athletic Grounds
The Cork Athletic Grounds was a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) stadium where major hurling and football matches were played. Situated in the Ballintemple area of Cork in Ireland, it was the home of Cork GAA between 1904 and 1974. The stadium was demolished in 1974 and replaced by Páirc Uí Chaoimh. History In late 1902 an attempt was made by the Cork County Board of the GAA to provide Cork city with a dedicated athletic stadium. A new company, the Cork Athletic Grounds Committee Ltd., was established under the chairmanship of James Crosbie. The county board invested £30 in the venture and a member of the board was appointed as a director. Parnell Park is a GAA stadium in Donnycarney, Dublin, Ireland with a capacity of 8,500. It is the home of the Dublin GAA hurling, football, camogie and ladies' football teams at all levels of competition. Pat Morley (born 18 May 1965) is an Irish former footballer who played as a forward for Cork City, Shelbourne, Limerick and Waterford United. He also works for Irish broadcaster Raidió Teilifís Éireann as a commentator and analyst on Monday Night Soccer. Career A former Celtic trialist Morley made his League of Ireland debut for Waterford United away to Finn Harps on 25 November 1984 scoring a hat trick in a 4–1 win.
