The Serie A (), also called Serie A TIM for national sponsorship with TIM, is a professional league competition for football clubs located at the top of the Italian football league system and the winner is awarded the Scudetto and the Coppa Campioni d'Italia. It has been operating as a round-robin tournament for over ninety years since the 1929–30 season. It had been organized by the Direttorio Divisioni Superiori until 1943 and the Lega Calcio until 2010, when the Lega Serie A was created for the 2010–11 season. The Derby d'Italia (English: Derby of Italy) is the name of the football derby between Internazionale of Milan and Juventus of Turin. The term was coined back in 1967 by Italian sports journalist Gianni Brera. It is the equivalent of Spain's El Clásico and France's Le Classique. Giancarlo Galli (6 March 1931 – 6 November 2022), commonly known as Carlo Galli (), was an Italian footballer who played as a striker. Club career Galli played for 16 seasons (305 games, 111 goals) in the Italian Serie A for U.S. Città di Palermo, A.S. Roma, A.C. Milan, Udinese Calcio, Genoa C.F.C. and S.S. Lazio. He was one of manager Giuseppe Viani, Giuseppe "Gipo" Viani's favourite players, and he coached while at both Palermo and Roma, before joining him at Milan in 1956, in exchange for an ageing Gunnar Nordahl. In his five seasons with Milan, Galli won two Serie A titles, and scored 47 goals, including five in a 6–1 home win over S.S. Lazio, Lazio on 13 April 1958 at the San Siro. Hans Olof "Hasse" Jeppson (10 May 1925 – 21 February 2013) was a Swedish professional footballer who played as a striker. He was known for his impressive goals to games ratio at several clubs, and represented Örgryte IS, Djurgårdens IF, Charlton Athletic, Atalanta, Napoli and Torino during a career that spanned between 1946 and 1957. A full international between 1949 and 1950, he won 12 caps and scored nine goals for the Sweden national team and helped them to a third-place finish at the 1950 FIFA World Cup. Club career Jeppson began his career with Djurgårdens IF, transferring to Charlton Athletic where he played 11 matches in 1951, before moving to Italy to join Atalanta (1951–1952). István Nyers
István Nyers (; 25 May 1924 – 9 March 2005), also known as Stefano Nyers, was a Hungarian footballer who played as a forward or as a winger. Although he played in only two international matches for Hungary, he is considered one of the greatest football legends of his country, reaching the peak of his career in the 1940s and 1950s. Career Nyers was born in Freyming-Merlebach, Moselle, France into an immigrant Hungarian mining family; his younger brother was Ferenc Nyers. John Angelo Valdemar Østergaard Hansen, known simply as John Hansen, (24 June 1924 – 12 January 1990) was a Danish footballer who played as a forward. He played professionally for seven years in Italy: he scored 124 goals in 187 matches for Juventus F.C., and won two Serie A championships with the club, finishing as ''Capocannoniere'' top-goal scorer in the 1951–52 Serie A season; he later also played for Italian club S.S. Lazio. He won the 1944 Danish championship with childhood club BK Frem. Hansen scored 10 goals in eight games for the Denmark national football team in 1948, and won a bronze medal with Denmark at the 1948 Summer Olympics.
