Palais Des Sports De Gerland
Palais des Sports de Gerland is an indoor sporting arena located in Lyon, France. The seating capacity of the arena is 5,910 people. History It was the venue of the Grand Prix de Tennis de Lyon tournament. The arena was the regular home venue of ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne for European Champions cup games in the late 1970s and early 1980s, for which it had a maximum capacity for 10,000 spectators. The arena also hosted the 1968 European Champions cup final in basketball, in which Real Madrid defeated Spartak Brno 98-95 in front of 8,000 spectators. The venue also saw France defeat the United States in the 1991 Davis Cup final. The arena hosted the last Saporta Cup final in 2002, in which Montepaschi Siena won the trophy. The British Judo Association (BJA) is the governing body for the Olympic Sport of Judo in the United Kingdom. In 2019 there were 35,000 members. The BJA represents the United Kingdom internationally and is a member of the International Judo Federation, the European Judo Union, the Judo Confederation of the European Union, the British Olympic Association, the Central Council of Physical Recreation, and the Commonwealth Judo Association. Geoffrey Robert Gleeson (1927–1994) was a British judoka. Teacher: Trevor Leggett. He went to Japan 1952-55 where he and Charles Palmer were the first westerners to serve as a special research students at the Kodokan Judo Institute. He studied most martial arts: Judo, Kendo, Aikido, Bōjutsu, Jujitsu, Karate, and also studied Zen Buddhism. First kenshusei post World War II. Robert Tobler (23 December 1901 – 17 June 1962) was a Swiss far-right politician. Born in Zürich, he followed his father by studying law at University of Zurich and working as a lawyer. Philip Rees, '' Biographical Dictionary of the Extreme Right Since 1890'', 1990, p. 391 Initially attracted to liberalism, he came into contact with Hans Oehler and soon helped to found the New Front in 1930. As chairman of the new group he was heavily influenced by Othmar Spann, although fascism quickly became more important for the Front. He served as ''Gaufuehrer'' for Zürich in the National Front and ran the party paper ''Die Front'', which was funded by Nazi Germany.
